PHOSPHORESCENT (us) + FAR FROM TELLUS (no)

Fortsetter under videoen:
Siden da har han samlet sammen et band, gitt ut først “To Willie”, et album av Willie Nelson-coverlåter, og nå senest “Here’s To Taking It Easy”. Omtaler av det siste albumet:
Blazing horns boost the macho outlaw country, giving Houck an unusually upbeat platform for his rickety, unaffected voice. Newfound confidence pours from the song and out onto the others. The A.V. Club
Here’s to Taking It Easy is a great record, but I feel like Houck’s best is still in him—the one where the deep roots of tradition will finally be inextricably fused with his own weird, shambling soul. Pitchfork
In a post-Fleet Foxes world, it seems that acts taking their inspiration from the verdant nooks and crannies of Laurel Canyon are everywhere: from Local Natives and The Low Anthem to Mountain Man and First Aid Kit. But Phosphorescent’s contribution to the new-folk cannon is an impressive and rather lovely addition. BBC
Support: FAR FROM TELLUS
Far From Tellus were formed in 2005 by members from several of Oslo’s most colourful and idealistic underground bands (Izakaya Heartbeat, Freeshine, Radio 9, Revolium and Laconic Zero), with a burning ambition to drown all purists in a sea of broken tambourines, and let new and unfiltered music ascend free and unchained to the surface.
The sound of Far From Tellus may be perceived as a melodic, uncompromising and energetic onslaught where elements of kraut, folk, punk, blues, bluegrass, dream pop, psychedelia and British Invasion melt together into a unique and magic hybrid.
Their self titled debut album was released September 6th, 2010 through Impeller Recordings.
