Peace and Conflict Studies (UIO) and the Norwegian Azerbaijani Youth Organization (NAYO) invites you to the 2nd PECOS Peace Forum, discussing the Karabakh conflict and Norway´s role in the region.
The Karabakh conflict was an armed conflict that took place between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh in southwestern Azerbaijan from February 1988 to May 1994. Although a ceasefire was signed in 1994, this area is still a source of tension in the region and affects regional relations between the states in the Caucasus region. In addition, researchers have pointed out that petro-dollars in this area are still a contributing factor further intensifying regional dynamics.
