Karin Erixon (b. 1985 in Luleå Sweden) is one of the co founders of Semikolon Gallery. During 2010/11 they curated and showed 21 exhibitions under the academy stairs.
Erixons work consists of painting and sculpture often shown together as big installations. In her paintings Erixon often uses photographs as a startingpoint, sometimes visible in the sharp light from a flash, sometimes in her compositions. The theme of her paintings is often based on observations of interiors and he peoople who inhabit them. In her sculptures Erixon also seems to be drawn to interiors, but the architecture are more present than in her paintings, reflecting both insides and outsides. Erixon often uses her self and her daily life in her works, and her grandmother and her apartment has been a returning theme often used as a conseptual framework.
Karin finished her BA from the academy of the arts in Oslo spring 2011, and we are honoured to present her first solo-exhibition as an educated artist.

As a Part of the exhibition The Sacred Fear, curated by Mohamed Ali Fadlabi for Kunsthall Oslo, we have the pleasure of presenting to you Jon Benjamin Tallerås with the show Sky Blue Sky
Jon Benjamin Tallerås (b. Oslo 1984) is currently doing the last year of his bachelor degree at the art academy in Oslo.
The more cold-blooded your calculations, the further you will go. Strike ruthlessly; you will be feared. Men and women for you must be nothing more than post-horses; take a fresh relay, and leave the last to drop by the roadside; in this way you will reach the goal of your ambition. You will be nothing here, you see, unless a woman interests herself in you; and she must be young and wealthy, and a woman of the world. Phoenix: Can I ask you a question?
West: Offcourse.
Phoenix: All the statues that we see. Where do you think they came from?
West: I think that artists carved them. Years and years ago.
Phoenix: No! They are phoenix turned to stone.
West: (Laughing) They…
Phoenix: They are phoenix turned to stone. You know what I hate most about your world? Anything that is different you try to change. You try to tear it down. You ripped away the sulfur phoenix and it turned to stone. And if I don´t burn I turn to stone.
West: What do you mean burn?
Phoenix: If I don’ burn I can’t go back to my world.
West: I don’t want you to go back to your world. I want you to stay here. With me..
Phoenix: I have to burn..
West: No! I’ll never let you burn.

Michael Stickrod’s videos are mesmerizing constructions of personal family documentations that range from reel-to-reel audio recordings of his mother’s memories, to scans of her paintings, to video that Stickrod shot observing his parents’ daily lives. The woven portraits of his father and mother become non-linear and abstract statements on life lived in the day-to-day. Jarrett Gregory of the New Museum writes, “The films capture a Depression-era sensibility and are reminiscent of works by American playwrights Eugene O’Neill and Arthur Miller, both of whom have investigated the struggle for autonomy within a family and the dissolution of the American Dream.”
Knut Ivar Aaser, first year student at the Academy of Fine Art Oslo, has teamed up with three of his artist colleagues to produce a show that, if previous experience is anything to go by, promises to consist of anything from painting to installation sculpture and video, possibly combined in new and interesting ways, or possibly just combined or even not combined at all (possibly in new and interesting ways), whatever the outcome, we think we can predict with a fair degree of certainty that it will all be executed in an energetic fashion.
