Om kunstneren
Mons Holst Christensen tilhører kategorien av kunstnere som arbeider i et krysningsfelt hvor det tekniske innen skulptur, maleri, foto, scenografi, animasjon møter det kunstneriske. Christensen har utdannelse fra b.l.a: Ècole des Beaux-arts i Paris, SHKS og Arkitekthøyskolen i Oslo. Han har arbeidet som freelancer for film, TV og scene og drevet egen virksomhet som kunstmaler og skulptør i over 10 år. I 2010 ledet han det ambisiøse prosjektet for en 8 meter lang mekanisk griseskulptur for den Norske Opera og ballett. Samme år deltok han på skulpturutstillingen ”Dyr du skulle ønske ikke fantes” på Zoologisk museum, Oslo. Et flertall utstillinger, workshops og utsmykkingsprosjekter fyller hans CV som tyder på en kunstner med overskudd og stadig nye prosjekter.

Time Machine
En stor del av dagens kunst er på et eller annet nivå innom en digital prosess. Hva om de store mestere i malerkunsten hadde hatt tilgang til digitalt utstyr? Billedserien ”Time Machine” på Galleri Pan består av 13 fotografier. I denne serien eksperimenterer kunstneren med idèen om hvordan digitalt utstyr ville blitt anvendt av tidligere tiders mestre. Serien er imaginere, digitale skisser til noen av kunsthistoriens ikoner. Bildene presenteres nå for første gang i en serie som bearbeidet print på lerret. Opplag 15 stk.

Welcome to PANs Spring Concerts!
Tonight: Derek Goodreid



Paper Memory is the musical journey of Derek Goodreid from his life in Fremantle, Australia to Oslo, Norway. His songs are narratives of pursuing a long distance relationship with his norwegian wife and finding faith along the way. Mixed with these personal songs are also fictional tales of sailors, murderers, thieves and a boastful escape artist. Musically he is inspired by Bon Iver, Devendra Banhart and Iron & Wine. You can have a taste of his music here http://soundcloud.com/papermemory The night, filled with spiritual yearnings and romantic songs, from hushed whispered tones to energetic folk ramblings gives you the impression that this Australian songwriter is on a musical and existential journey and you are more than welcome to come along for the ride on 8th of June at gallery ‘Pan’ together with special guest of the evening- Tom Griffin.

Tonight: Michelle Alexandra



Michelle Alexandra is a born performer. She is a duel citizen of both the US and Norway. After graduating from The George Washington University in Washington, DC; The New York Film Academy (London) and The British American Drama Academy (Oxford), Michelle lived and worked as an actress/singer in New York City for two years before deciding it was time to get in touch with her Norwegian roots. In the fall of 2010, she packed up and moved to Oslo.
On the 25th of May at gallery ‘Pan’ Michelle will be performing mostly songs from well known musicals such as “Phantom of the Opera” and “The Sound of Music” with a couple of classical arias as well.

Tonight: Kreg Viesselman



Kreg Viesselman, originally from Minnesota, relocated to Oslo in 2005, where he performs live with both Meisfjord and Rasmussen. He is currently back in the studio with producer Anders Otnes working on another collection of songs. In addition, he has recently contributed a track to the compilation “Hjertestups”, recorded in Norway, and “The Six Sessions”, recorded in Holland.

Viesselman’s last album “The Pull” spent several weeks at number 1 in the Euro-Americana chart after a hail of beaming reviews, ahead of the likes of Eric Clapton, JJ Cale and Tom Waits. His exquisite songwriting and distinctive voice have earned him a solid reputation in the U.S. and across Europe. Hearing Kreg Viesselman sing is an intense experience. He deals with humanity in its basic and most instinctive forms, in a style that belies a deep human intelligence and wry wit. His is a narrative voice, at once brutal and touching, which deserves its place in the canon of great American writers.

Tonight: Collin Fairbank



Colin Fairbank is a young Canadian jazz pianist from Montreal. He began his classical piano training at the age of five, and obtained his Grade 10 Classical Piano Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music at the age of 16. Electing to pursue his budding interest in jazz after being exposed to the music of the legendary Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, Colin enrolled in Jazz Piano Performance studies at Vanier College in Montreal, while concurrently double-majoring in the Health Sciences. Following his graduation in 2009 with highest honors Colin was accepted into the highly selective Jazz Performance Bachelor’s Degree program at Université de Montréal. After completing his first year there, he is now an exchange student at the Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen, the Netherlands, in their unique “New York Comes to Groningen” Jazz program. While there, he has played in the Conservatoire big band, and is involved in several small ensembles, while also leading his own trio, performing jazz standards as well as original compositions.

On the 4th of May Colin will play a selection of his arrangements of standards from the jazz and pop repertoire, as well as a few of his own compositions for solo piano.

Tonight: Lerkekvartetten



Lerkekvartetten is a string quartet (Jonas Østervold, Elfi Maria Øhre Marcussen, Amanda Håøy Horn and Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad) at the age of 16-19 years old. They met each other at a chamber music seminar in Oslo 6 years ago and have played together since then guided by Cellist Kari Ravnan from the Oslo Filharmonic Orchestra.
The quartet has attended many chamber music courses and concerts in Norway, England, USA and they have had several coachers such as: Igor Rybak, Soon Mi Chung, Leif- Arne Jørgensen, Berit Værnes Chardas and Eileen Siegel.
The quartet’s proffesionality has been proved by wining some important prizes:
first price in U.S.A;
first prize in Sparre Olsen konkurransen;
first prize in The Youth music competition in 2010.

Tonight: Tom Griffin



Tom Griffin is a songwriter playing guitar and piano. Tom is true British. He started touring in Norway and got stuck here. Tom mainly composes and performs acoustic folk-rock and finely crafted self-contained songs, inspired by music from the 60′s and 70′s. These include popular titles on the Oslo acoustic circuit such as ‘Some Say’ and ‘Suntrap’. He will be performing on 14th of April at PAN with mostly his own compositions as well as a few ‘one-off’s’ of covers songs, varying in genre and chronology. For sure, there is something for you.

Tonight: Lene Bergmann og Morten Bessesen



Lene-Mari Bergmann’s (vocal) and Morten Bessesen’s (piano and guitar) duet from Mandal, currently studying music in Oslo. They have played for more than 3 years together and their first concert in Oslo is on 6 th of April at ‘Pan’ gallery. Program includes their favourite tunes from the standard jazz, bossa nova and various pop- and folk songs which are freely interpretated. Lene and Morten promised to create a nice atmosphere during the evening.

Tonight: Trimma Traktor


Trimma Traktor is a happy go lucky Norwegian pop band. After a couple of years with country flavoured pop music, two band members deciced to seek happiness in Uganda and Oklahoma. But on the 30th of March the band come together again for one night only at Galleri Pan. The band will be supported by the new act Tante Bodils Jazztobakk, who rose from the ashes of Trimma Traktor like a firebird phoenix in 2010. Spring is coming and what better way to start it off with an acoustic concert at Galleri Pan! The concert starts at around 19.30. Welcome!

Welcome to PANs Spring Concerts! Released by Filip Lund

Filip Lund will play a selection of melodic guitar music from the 20th century with works from composers as Barrios, Dyens, Villa-Lobos, Granados, Walton, Rodrigo and Sainz de la Masa.
Filip Lund is a Norwegian classical guitarist stationed in Oslo. He has studied performing arts at the Norwegian Academy of Music, where he finished in 2010 with the top grade in his instrument, and at el Conservatorio Superior de Manuel Castillo in Seville, Spain, under the supervision of the French guitar virtuoso Gaelle Solal. Filip has played concerts at different venues in cities as Trondheim, Malmö, Barcelona and Oslo, including the Norwegian Opera & Ballet in Oslo.

Ønsker du å utvikle dine tegne- og maleferdigheter?

Frie Kunster ved Leandro Cassiano tilbyr grunnleggende kurs i tradisjonell tegning og maleri, med utgangspunkt i studier av levende modell (akt). Dette er et omfattende kurs som tar sikte på å gi studentene en dypere forståelse av form, rom, lys og skygge, samt gi større innsikt i materialbruk, teknikk og komposisjon.

Kursene vil foregå i St. Olavs gate 7 – 9 (kart), i Café/Galleri Pan. Lokalene ligger sentralt mellom Edderkoppen teater og St. Olavs kirke.

Kursstart: 20. september.

Dager/tid: mandager og tirsdager: fra kl. 11:00 – 13:00 og 17:00 – 20:00
Onsdager: fra kl. 17:00 – 20:00

Kursavgift: 3.200,- + modellpenger (modellpenger fordeles mellom kursdeltagerne). Materialer som papir og tegnesaker er inkludert i prisen, men det er ønskelig at hver kursdeltager tar med eget feltstaffeli.

Kursene er godt egnet for både nybegynnere og viderekomne, og vil være et godt supplement til de som studerer eller arbeider visuelt med tradisjonelle/moderne medier.

Det blir fortløpende opptak og eventuelle deltagere kan kontakte kurslederen for å avtale en passende timeplan.

Leandro Cassiano er utdannet som billedkunster ved statens kunstakademi i Oslo, og har flere års erfaring med blant annet undervisning innen både tegning og malemedier som olje og akryl; i tillegg driver han med illustrasjon og karikaturtegning, samt figur- og 3D-design.

Utstillingen varer fra 14-16 Januar og består av diverse skisser fra Circus Universe. Konserten er Fredag 15. Januar, kl 2000. I tillegg til komposisjoner av Anna Ulrikke Andersen, vil Lars Ole Kristansen lese utvalgte historier. Det blir også innslag av Rino Silden (Banjo-Rino) , Thomas Storkjørren og Joakim Sigvaldsen.

“Wer hat Angst vor Wilhelm Reich” er en film produsert for den Østerikske statskanalen av Nicolas Dabelstein. Filmen, som ble sendt på Østeriksk TV i høst er tekstet på engelsk, og gir en god introduksjon til Wilhelm Reichs liv og virke. Den varer omtrent i en time.
