Hugo Mendez is one of the leading Tropical DJ’s in the UK and founder of the legendary Sofrito Tropical Warehouse Parties and label. The Sofrito sound is a unique blend of African, Caribbean and Latin rhythms – a percussive explosion that includes heavy Afro grooves, old school mambo, Tropical Disco, bouncing samba, calypso funk and heavy Cumbia, bringing vintage styles… up to date with exclusive dubplate edits and a contemporary club slant.

FRØHOLM-TILLUNG/CISSOKHO/TABOADA/ROGNLIEN/MACLAU/DOUMBOUYA/SKUTERUD/DJ BAZ. Koèju & Global Oslo Music presents: ALL ACOUSTIC SESSION at NOMADEN. Koèju (formerly hosting the Thursday Live Club Sessions at Nomaden), is presenting an unusual All Acoustic Night with some of Norway’s best percussionists and brings the campfire/ jam session/ summer vibe in to the club. Each hour with a different live band, but with one common target: Contagious music for the dance floor! Throughout the history our ancestors have danced to acoustic beats, so why not enjoy the best fruits of these music traditions and truly embrace the amazing energy in acoustic live music! The entire night will be an absurd & delightful sonic experiment, so, you got 2 options: dance or join in the jamsession. See you there!

21:00 JASSBOX: Espen Horne på Nomaden Club
Espen Horne, who is a DJ and music producer from Bergen, started his first club night at Café Opera in 1993, together with Anders Rykkja & Eivind Olsvik. Doing this weekly friday night, Gazz, for about 3 years, bringing in jass and funk musicians to join the djs, made it possible to start and begin as booking manager for the new Bergen venue, Miles Ahead, in 1995. This br…ought up the opportunity to feed Bergen with some serious DJ names as, Quantic, Pete Herbert, Krüder & Dorfmeister, Nicola Conte, Rainer Truby, Keb Darge, Mad Professor, Idjut Boys, Patric Forge etc.
Building this network of worldwide DJ connections has resulted in a numerous DJ gigs abroad, from Singapore to Moscow, but most of all, on more regular basis in Germany, France, Italy and UK. He was as well heavily involved playing records and playing live with other musicians, every second weekend for about 5 years at Blå, when they opened their venue in 1998.

Tonight it’s a big honor for us in the funky bunker to welcome the Italian legend Beppe Loda to his first gig in Norway!
He is, along with Daniele Baldelli, the originator of the space disko music that has taken the underground with storm. Lindstrøm even takes Beppe’s legendary mix tapes to bed and listens to them before he goes to sleep, to get inspiration for the next day..

EDIT: Ønskereprise fra februar, mitmitta er tilbake som gjesteDJ….. Det blir siste sjans for en dans med mitmitta som vil befinne seg både foran og bak spakene, da han setter kursen hjem til etiopia på søndag…
22:00 Klubb Kannibal med DJ Geir Svensson på Nomaden Club
Klubb Kannibal-gjengen er Bergens egne verdensmusikk-predikanter, som med sitt kannibal-prosjekt byr opp til gjennomførte helaftner med en blanding av livemusikk, jamming og dj-ing. Sjangermessig beveger de seg med stor letthet mellom det eklektiske og rytmiske, mellom disco, afrobeat og naturligvis Vestlandets egen West Coast-stil. Om vårt Bergensklima ikke alltid er like varmende for kropp og sjel, skaper i alle fall en hver Kannibal-kveld en tropisk opplevelse. Det er bare Kannibal som er i stand til å skape et slikt klima i byen – med eller uten veggtapet bestående av kokosnøtter, palmer og laguner. Glem derfor alt som heter globetrotting når Audinho, Svensson og Ketil setter i gang sitt tropiske maskineri.
